Bilateral Embolization of the Middle Meningeal Arteries for Refractory Chronic Migraine (MMAE‑Migraine)
A pilot study testing the safety and feasibility of bilateral middle meningeal artery embolization (bMMAE) using Onyx in patients with refractory chronic migraine. The procedure aims to reduce migraine‑causing substances released into the brain’s bloodstream. Participants are followed for 6 months post‑procedure with daily headache diaries and clinic visits.
BLOCK-SAH Clinical Trial
Served as the Johns Hopkins neurosurgery co‑investigator assessing the efficacy, feasibility, and safety of pterygopalatine fossa blocks (PPF‑blocks) as an opioid‑sparing approach in alleviating headaches for patients with spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage.
STRIVE-ON Clinical Trial
Served as the Johns Hopkins neurosurgery site principal investigator. The trial evaluated the randomization of patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage to oral nimodipine versus GTx‑104, an IV formulation designed to minimize hypotensive side effects.
Squid Trial for the Embolization of the Middle Meningeal Artery (STEM)
Served as a participating trial investigator, consenting and operating on enrolled patients. Enrolled individuals were randomized to receive medical management versus middle meningeal artery embolization for the treatment of chronic subdural hematomas.
